The Xenerix Consortium
The Xenerix Consortium is an initiative of Hogeschool Zeeland (Regional University), in the Netherlands together with ROC Zeeland (Regional Technical College) and five companies, namely: Sony Music EGAS, Ibuildings, Nedbase, Colijn-IT and XlexIT.
In the future the arrangement of the members may change.
Goal
The goal of the Xenerix Consortium is to create an Asset/Content Management platform which is not brand or purpose specific as most existing Asset/Content Management systems are.
Keywords for Xenerix ( to be pronounced as "Generics", a fusion of general and generic) are open standards and open source.
Timeframe
On this moment (Q4 2003) the consortium is finishing the definition of a fully generic repository model.
Second quarter of 2004 a working proof of concept will be implemented and tested.
In 2005 version 1.0 of the core will be released as Open Source.
